Flower & Plant Care Guide

How do I care for my Flowers?

Your flowers have been carefully grown, picked, hand arranged and protected at every stage to ensure they arrive with you in peak condition. Some of your flowers may arrive in bud but these will open giving you maximum vase life.

If you follow our simple care instructions your flowers should last for a minimum 7 days.

Cut the stems 2-3 cm from the bottom

  • Once you have received your order, remove flowers from all packaging and by using a sharp knife or scissors cut 2 - 3 cm off each stem
  • Make sure that there aren't any leaves that would be below the waterline of the vase as these will start to decay causing bacteria to build up in the vase
  • Place flowers in a clean vase, filled with fresh water and flower food, following the instructions on the flower food.  Ensure that the water level is topped up regularly
  • Avoid placing your display near ripening fruit, direct heat, in direct sunlight or in a draught
  • Re-cutting the stems every 3 to 4 days may make your flowers last longer
  • If your roses droop try re-cutting the stems and standing them in warm water

How do I care for my Tulips?

  • The secret to getting the most from your tulips is to remember that they always lean towards the light and they grow fast when in water.
  • When you receive your tulips leave them in their wrap and place in a vase of water under a light source, for about an hour before arranging. This will help keep the tulips upright for longer.
  • After an hour the tulips are ready to be arranged in a vase, remove any leaves that may go under the water level.
  • Hold the stems under running water and cut about one inch of each stem with sharp scissors. Do not let the newly cut ends dry off.
  • Fill your vase with clean warm water and add the complimentary flower food that your received with your flowers.
  • Place the tulips into the vase and place out of direct sunlight and drafts.
  • Tulips drink lots of water so its important to ensure that the vase remains full.

How do I care for my Plant?

Our indoor plants are easy to look after. They have a flowering life of about 3 weeks, but are not permanent displays.

  • When the plant arrives, check that the compost is not dry and add water if needed
  • Keep your plant in a well-lit position at 15ºC-21ºC away from draughts and direct sunlight
  • Keep the compost moist: do not over-water, but never let the plant dry out completely
  • Remove any dying leaves or flowers as soon as you see them
  • After flowering has finished, healthy plants can be repotted individually

Caution: A few plants can be harmful if eaten or cause skin irritation- check individual labels / care instructions supplied.
